What "minimally invasive" really means in facial surgery
It is neither a trend nor a slogan: it is a way of planning each procedure so the result looks natural and the recovery is shorter.

The phrase "minimally invasive" has been used so often that it has lost part of its meaning. In maxillofacial and facial aesthetic surgery it has a very precise one: always choosing the approach that preserves the tissues as far as possible, reducing the size and number of incisions, and working in anatomical planes that allow structures to be repositioned rather than pulled tight.
What the patient gains
- Less swelling and less bruising.
- A faster return to normal life.
- A result that does not give the surgery away.
The face still moves as it always did, expression is unchanged, and anyone looking simply sees that the person looks better.
Not every case is a candidate
There are situations in which a more extensive technique gives a clearly better and longer-lasting result, and in those cases the honest thing is to say so. That decision is taken in consultation, with the face in front of you and without rushing.
